About CBS
CBS is an English-language television channel, which is the flagship station of the American CBS TV network. It is available over the air, via cable and also via satellite throughout USA. It broadcasts in 1080i HD; however, some of its numerous affiliate channels across the country may transmit in 720p HD or 480i SD.
Based in New York, CBS was founded back in 1931 as W2XAB. Ten years later, it changed its name to WCBW, before becoming WCBS in 1946. The commercial network has aired many of the shows by CBS Television Distribution, and its programming has appealed to audiences from different age groups thanks to a mix of popular movies and TV series, reality shows, news bulletins, kids TV shows, crime-related shows, comedy, and more. CBS’ history of sports broadcasts includes American Football (NFL) and baseball (MLB).
